What’s the most annoying trope in books or movies?

The most annoying trope in movies for me is when a character knows something is wrong, but instead of getting out of there, they go investigate.

They hear a strange noise in the basement and decide to go downstairs—alone. They see a door slowly opening and, instead of running, they walk toward it. And of course, the lights suddenly stop working.

I’m sitting there thinking, “Why are you going in there? RUN!”

Maybe that’s what makes the movie entertaining. If everyone made smart decisions, some movies would probably be over in ten minutes. 😂
