What’s one thing you know now that would have saved your younger self a lot of pain?
If I could give my younger self some advice, it would be to stop allowing other people to have so much influence over the direction of my life.
Never let anyone else decide your future. People may have good intentions, but their vision for your life isn’t necessarily the one you should follow. Listen to advice, but trust yourself enough to make your own decisions.
Live your life on your terms. Don’t sacrifice your dreams or happiness trying to meet someone else’s expectations. The choices you make should reflect what matters to you, not what others believe you should want.
Know your worth. Value yourself enough to set boundaries, walk away from situations that don’t serve you, and recognize that your voice matters. You don’t need anyone’s approval to believe in yourself.
Be resilient. Life will throw plenty of curveballs your way. Plans will change, disappointments will happen, and sometimes you’ll find yourself starting over. What matters is learning to adapt without losing sight of who you are.
Looking back, I understand that some lessons can only come with experience. I can’t change the past, but I can appreciate the wisdom it gave me.
Perhaps the most important thing I would tell my younger self is this:
You have more power over your future than you think. Don’t give that power away.
Your story belongs to you. Make sure you’re the one writing it.
And remember, it’s never too late to change the direction of your life. ❤️
