How do you manage stress?
Stress is something we all deal with in life. For many years, I didn’t know how to handle it. I would keep everything inside, cry alone, feel defeated, and sometimes allow others to control my happiness.
But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve decided to manage stress differently.
I’ve learned to speak up when something bothers me and set boundaries, both in my personal life and at work. There was a time when people’s actions would upset me so much that I would stress about them all day.
I used to think staying quiet was the best way to keep the peace. But I’ve learned that sometimes keeping quiet only creates more stress within ourselves.
Now, I try to ask myself, “Will this even matter a week from today?” Sometimes we spend so much energy worrying about things that won’t matter a few days later.
I’ve also learned that not every situation deserves my attention. I cannot control how others behave, but I can control how I respond. When there’s unnecessary drama, I choose to walk away.
Letting go doesn’t mean I don’t care. It means I understand that some things are simply beyond my control.
I also make time for things that bring me happiness. I enjoy doing crafts, going for walks, or simply spending time alone. Those quiet moments help me clear my mind and recharge.
Most importantly, I turn to God through prayer. I’m learning to give my worries to God and lean on Him for strength, guidance, and peace.
I’m not perfect, and I still have days when stress gets the best of me. But I’m learning.
I spent too many years allowing other people and situations to steal my peace. I’m not willing to keep living that way.
Life is too short to worry about everything, especially things we cannot change.
I’m still learning, still growing, and still finding my way.
What about you? How do you manage stress?
