How do you define success in life?
Everyone sees success differently. For some people, it’s building a career, making good money, or finally reaching a point where they don’t have to worry about paying the bills. I understand that. There’s a real sense of accomplishment in being able to provide for yourself and your family.
When I think about what makes me feel successful, I picture having my family by my side. And as a mom, I think about the kind of person my son is becoming. I hope he works hard for whatever he wants in life. I also hope he keeps his word, treats people with kindness, and does the right thing even when nobody’s watching.
My son will get to decide what success looks like for him. For me, one of my proudest moments will be seeing him out in the world, making his own choices, and recognizing the values I tried to teach him at home.
